Alabama STEM VolunteersAlabama STEM Volunteers is a group of UA students who love the STEM disciplines and are passionate about working to ensure equal opportunities for public school students in Tuscaloosa. Our goal is to instill a love of the STEM disciplines in elementary students by providing an exceptional educational opportunity, helping them to achieve academic success in the short term, and inspiring them to develop personal goals for the future.

Specific objectives:
- Encourage participation in outreach to the general public
- Provide information that highlights outreach activities and those involved
- Participate in special programs representing the department (i.e., K-12 schools, Science Olympiad, etc.)
- Link faculty to appropriate outreach opportunities
- Record and document all departmental outreach activities
- Be a resource for faculty pursuing collaborations in outreach programs and grants
